The Education Department is set to cut about half of its staff starting today. How will that effect schools? Plus, retired NBA legend Dwyane Wade shares the symptoms that led to his kidney cancer diagnosis, and fitness experts break down the difference between mobility and flexibility and why both are important to staying healthy.
President Donald Trump is planning to cut nearly 1,300 Education Department employees, about half of its total staff, with an ultimate goal of shutting down the agency completely. About 3,000 people work in the department's headquarters in Washington, and roughly 1,000 are in 10 regional offices. A union representing the staff said the cuts could affect financial aid for college, children's rights in school being enforced and more areas.
Retired NBA legend Dwyane Wade shared in an exclusive interview on TODAY how telling his doctor he was experiencing lingering stomach pain and issues with urination led to a diagnosis of kidney cancer. He also shared how he processed the news. "I remember telling myself, if I do come out of this, you know how I’m going to approach life, how I’m going approach every day ... I’m going to live for the 24 hours," Wade said.

Flexibility involves how much your body can stretch, while mobility is how well you can control your movements through a range of motion. Here's why your body needs a balance of the two, plus some exercises to improve both.
