A 14-year-old Atlanta boy named Abdul Aziz Khan, who went missing as a 7-year-old in 2017, has been found safe in the Denver area — and his noncustodial mother and a man are now behind bars on multiple charges. Single mom Connie Stowers, 38, was 32 days sober and struggling with her weight in the midst of a painful divorce when she summoned the courage to attend an adult roller-skating meetup. She was black and blue from falling that first night, but she stuck with it. “The benefits of roller skating outweighed the risks for me," she told TODAY.com. "I felt alive again. I felt powerful." Stowers used roller skating as exercise and a distraction from drinking on her way to losing 100 pounds.
In an emotional video, owner Rachel Nieves held back tears as she shared that she might have to move her small coffee shop in Brooklyn due to a rent increase, while noting that a new coffee shop was moving in next door. The heartfelt video resulted in a line of customers down the street and people coming from other states to support the shop.
