President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico and China took effect this morning. NBC’s Christine Romans said on TODAY that American families could see price hikes on fresh produce, gasoline, electronics and potentially up to $12,000 on new automobiles. One analyst estimated that American households can expect to spend up to another $1,200 to $1,300 a year as a result of the higher prices. |

Country music icon Dolly Parton shared the sad news that Carl Thomas Dean, her husband of nearly 60 years, died at 82 yesterday. "Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Kathy Labedzki-Pierga, the owner of an Illinois boutique, told TODAY.com she's "never been in a situation like this" after a girl was bullied for a sparkly gown she bought for the prom at Labedzki-Pierga's store. She said the angry mother of another girl at the same school berated her for selling the dress, and that the other girl who bought it is being harassed at school.
