Not only that, but there's actually research showing that people who walk with dogs tend to have more social interactions than people who don't. So not only do you get to take a (furry) friend on your daily walking adventure, having a dog with you could make it more likely for you to make more friends along the way.

In fact, there are a lot of evidence-based benefits of dog walking, particularly for older adults. But what if you don't have a dog? Does that mean that you don't get to reap all those benefits? No way! There are a ton of animal shelters and rescue organizations that would love you to volunteer to walk a dog. And if you ask around your neighborhood or the message board in your local grocery, you will likely find that you have a lot of neighbors who really need some help with their pooches.
