Hurricane Nicole caused at least two deaths, the collapse of several homes and widespread flooding after making landfall on Florida's Atlantic coast yesterday. The storm struck as a Category 1 hurricane before weakening into a tropical storm, crumpling coastal homes and causing evacuations. It also may have unearthed a Native American burial site on South Hutchinson Island after beachgoers found remains that are believed to be at least 200 years old, authorities said.

Veterans Day 2022: Parents share what it's like to lose a child at war.

Today we honor our military members on Veterans Day. Three parents who lost their children in a terror attack that killed 13 U.S. service members in August 2021 during the evacuation from Afghanistan shared with us the last time they spoke with them and how they heard the news of their deaths. Paula Knauss Selph lost her son, Army Staff Sergeant Ryan Knauss, who was killed in Kabul. "Ryan wasn't out to be a hero. In my opinion, heroes are just ordinary people who do extraordinary things and we can learn a lot from people who choose to live out their life doing what they feel is ordinary, where we see it in our eyes as extraordinary,” she told us. A diagnosis of prediabetes made Jenn Rathweg, 30, want to make big changes in her life, and her husband agreed that he wanted to help her on her journey by altering his own habits. Jenn shared with us how she has lost 50 pounds by connecting with others in the Start TODAY Facebook group and making 3 changes that have had a dramatic impact. She and her husband did a "cabinet haul" in which they tossed or donated everything they didn't want to eat anymore, with a focus on processed foods. They also watched their portion sizes and began a walking routine. Jenn also shared what she eats on an average day and the 5 positive changes she has seen in her health.

Celebrity chef Bobby Flay shared his secrets for making the ultimate chicken Parm, starting with the dredging station. Be sure to season the flour, eggs and breadcrumbs with salt and pepper so the coating isn’t bland. Fry the chicken, add the fresh mozzarella and throw it in the oven until the cheese is melted. When Utah mom Kylie Katich was pregnant, her husband, Alex, bought an adorable brown bear suit that he eventually dressed their daughter in nearly every day. Now that Esti is 7 months old, Kylie has shared a secret with Alex: She has quietly been replacing the bear suit with a bigger size every month since Esti was born because she keeps growing out of it. Then came the twist, which Kylie shared in a TikTok video viewed more than 16 million times. "Except, guys, then I found out that he knows the secret!” she exclaims, as the camera pans to Alex holding Esti. Kylie told us she bought all the sizes of the adorable outfit, knowing its importance to Alex. “The second he saw the bear suit, fatherhood clicked and became real for him,” she told us. “It sounds so silly and weird but he truly nurtured this little bear suit. The bear suit was the first thing that made him like, ‘This is really happening and I'm ready.’”
