Marine veteran Trevor Reed arrives back in the U.S. after a prisoner exchange with Russia, and a new vaccine for the country's youngest children could be coming soon. Plus, a stunning onstage moment for Olivia Wilde.
Marine veteran Trevor Reed is back on U.S. soil after landing in his native Texas shortly after midnight following nearly three years in a Russian prison. Reed, 30, was returned to the U.S. as part of a surprising prisoner swap with Russia after he was given a nine-year prison sentence for a crime his family said he didn’t commit. Reed’s parents said he “looks terrible” and will need time to recover from the “squalid conditions” of his “Russian gulag.”
In a potential breakthrough for young kids still ineligible for a Covid vaccine, Moderna is expected to request emergency use authorization from the FDA for a two-dose shot for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. A report by the CDC found that 75% of children and teens had gotten Covid by February. The request comes as Dr. Anthony Fauci says the country is "out of the pandemic phase."
In a stunning moment onstage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas Tuesday, actor-director Olivia Wilde was presenting the trailer for her new movie when a person in front of the stage served her with court papers regarding her children with ex Jason Sudeikis. The "Ted Lasso" star "had no prior knowledge" of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered," sources close to Sudeikis told NBC News. The couple, who split up in 2020 after nine years together, have two children together.

She also had joint swelling, hair loss and a racing heart. An endocrinologist finally diagnosed her with Cushing disease, caused by a tumor in her pituitary gland. "I hope that I’ll get back to that woman I used to be — in mind, body and spirit," she told us.
We don't care what the thermostat says — it's grilling season, friends. So today we're sharing a recipe for baby back ribs in a hot honey sauce and charred Mexican-style street corn, courtesy of Pig Beach chef Matt Abdoo. The ribs are the perfect combo of sweet and spicy, and grilled corn has so much natural flavor, you don't even need butter (though we'll still be slathering it on).

This DoorDash driver delivered a pizza — and then delivered some life-saving help to an unconscious customer. Sophia Furtado found Caryn Hebert Sullivan unconscious and bleeding from the head outside her Massachusetts home and used her EMT training to stabilize Sullivan until medics arrived. “She was my guardian angel,” Sullivan told an NBC affiliate. “If I didn’t have her, I’d probably be dead.” Furtado's heroics earned her a $1,000 educational grant from the local police.
