Stop touching your face. It’s a mantra during any flu season, but especially now as the new coronavirus is raising fears about a pandemic.
Easier said than done. Some studies show people touch their face every couple of minutes or so, which is a problem because touching the face after touching a contaminated surface or sick person is one of the ways the coronavirus can be spread.
To stop the habit, create visual cues in as many places as possible. Set a repeated alert on your phone, perhaps every hour, that says “Don’t touch face.” Put a sticky note with the same reminder on your work computer, bathroom mirror and in the car. It sounds quirky, but it’s a key way to overcome behavior that’s so unconscious.
Follow the link to see all six tips to stop touching your face. |
