Even when we know people’s names, why do we go for days without using them? By using someone’s name, you help them feel seen and acknowledged — and that’s an act of kindness. According to kindness.org’s research in collaboration with the University of Oxford, doing a kind act increases happiness, well-being, trust and compassion. And it can have the same powerful effect on those who receive the act. Try it, and put a smile on both your faces. |

Once you've mastered how to make perfect hard-boiled eggs, you need to learn how to peel them without making a mess. We’ve all been there — frustrated when we get chips of eggshell under our nails, digging in until our egg looks as traumatized as we feel.
First, use slightly older eggs because very fresh eggs are harder to peel. Next, start with boiling water -- not cold -- a method that’s nearly foolproof. You want to boil the eggs vigorously for 30 seconds, then reduce the heat to a gentle simmer, cover with a lid and cook for another 10 minutes.
Follow the link to see the rest of the steps, including why it’s better to peel eggs under water and how a spoon can help. |
