NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo is giving a glimpse into his life off the court as a father.
The Milwaukee Bucks superstar, who shares three children with wife Mariah Riddlesprigger, brought out his Halloween costume a few days early during a recent post-game press conference.
After his team lost 133 to 122 to the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 25, Antetokounmpo lightened the mood by arriving to his post-game media session dressed as Mr. Potato Head. He shared a video of him sporting the costume on X.
When one of the reporters asked why the former MVP decided to dress up, he replied, “Why did I choose this…are you married?”
After the journalist confirmed he is married, Antetokounmpo — who recently tied the knot in September, per People — said, “So you know, you don’t have no say in things.”
As the reporters laughed, he continued, “When the day starts, you have a schedule. This what you’re going to do today, right?”
He explained that his to-do list includes going to practice, commuting home and playing with his kids.
“Then you’re going to take a nap. And then we have a costume ready for you. You’re going to put that costume on. It doesn’t matter what you feel. Win or lose,” Antetokounmpo added. “Because at the end of the day, you’re a father and after a basketball player.”
He concluded, “So this is why I choose this costume. Because I’m a father first. I have three kids. I have to go entertain my kids.”
Antetokounmpo included some advice for fans in the caption for the clip. He tweeted, “Always have your priorities,” and included a prayer-hands emoji.
Fans applauded his message in the comments.
“Giannis you are a true idol and role model,” one said.
Another wrote, “Kids will make you do silly things for no reason. It’s beautiful.”
Antetokounmpo and Riddlesprigger are proud parents to 4-year-old son Liam, 3-year-old son Maverick and 1-year-old daughter Eva.
The NBA star, who also goes by the nickname “Greek Freak,” returned to Greece to wed Riddlesprigger, People reported.
