Welcome to TODAY, Sky!
Al Roker’s granddaughter, Sky Laga, visited the TODAY Show for the first time on Oct. 15, when she stopped by with her mom, Al's daughter Courtney Roker Laga.
On the show, Courtney showed viewers how to make a few recipes from her and Al's new cookbook, "Al Roker’s Recipes to Live By: Easy, Memory-Making Family Dishes for Every Occasion."
After toasting with a nice blood orange Aperol spritz, Courtney's husband, Wes, walked in with a crying Sky in his arms.
"Oh you wanted your Papa," Al said, referring to himself.
At that point, Courtney revealed that her daughter is now 15 months old, and she said that Sky might've been crying because she got "scared" by the sound of the KitchenAid mixer.
Later in the conversation, Courtney shared some of her favorite recipes in the book, including her family's delicious cinnamon buns.
As for Al, he stated that he enjoyed his mother's oxtail stew and dumplings and her pineapple upside down cake.

He then looked over at Sky and said, "And this is my favorite recipe right here."
Courtney and Sky's appearance on TODAY comes after Al celebrated his granddaughter's first birthday in July. On Instagram, he shared a photo collage of Sky set to Stevie Wonder's hit song "Isn't She Lovely."
He captioned the post, "At 11:41am a year ago today, I got to fall@in love all over again in a very special way. (Thanks) @ouichefroker and @thatteacherwhodjs for the gift of this special girl, Sky."
Then, a few days later, Al spoke with TODAY.com about the joys of being a grandfather, saying that he likes that he gets to take care of Sky without the anxieties of being her parent.
“By the time you become a grandparent, you already know what it takes to raise a child. And since it’s not your primary responsibility, you can really just bask in the joy of everything they do because you don’t have to worry about all the other stuff," he said.
