Country music star Miranda Lambert is set to be honored in a special way.

On Aug. 22, TODAY exclusively revealed that Lambert will receive the Country Icon Award at the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards.

“A tour de force in country music for more than 20 years, Miranda Lambert’s groundbreaking albums continue to capture the hearts of fans around the world,” said Jen Neal, NBCUniversal Entertainment's executive vice president for live events and specials, in a press release. “We’re so excited to celebrate her career, fierce individualism and innovation in the industry with the Country Icon Award.”

On Sept. 13, Lambert will release her new studio album, “Postcards from Texas," which is the follow-up to her hit 2022 album, “Palomino."

“Palomino” helped Lambert earn a Grammy nomination for best country album and it's also hailed as the largest female country album debut of 2022.

Not only will Lambert receive the Country Icon Award at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards, but she also has the opportunity to go home with a few more awards as well.

The "Wranglers" singer is nominated for best female artist of 2024 and best female song of 2024. She's up against some stiff competition in both of those categories, including Kacey Musgraves, Dolly Parton and Beyoncé, who released her first country album, "Cowboy Carter," earlier this year.

Fans can vote for their favorite artists at www.votepcca.com. Voting will end on Friday, Aug. 23, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

As for the People’s Choice Country Awards, the ceremony will be hosted this year by Shania Twain and it will air live on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT across NBC and Peacock from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. E! will also be live before the show at 6 p.m. ET to give fans an inside look at the red carpet.
