If you're curious about your health, there are a few simple tests you can do at home to help you get a baseline of your overall wellness.
First, check your waist-to-height ratio. Take a tape measure and wrap it around your waist -- right around the belly button level -- and record the number. It should always be less than half of your height. “It’s important because it’s a good measure of belly fat — and belly fat causes diabetes, it causes high blood pressure. Number one cause of aging,” says Dr. Mehmet Oz.

If your goal is to burn fat and maximize your workouts, there’s one fitness tool you need to incorporate into your routine: a kettlebell! It engages your entire body at once — increasing your metabolism and burning more calories.
To tone your legs, try the kettlebell lunge and pass. Begin in a standing position, then step back with one leg, dropping straight down. Pass the kettlebell under your front thigh to your other hand. Stand back up driving all your weight into your front heel. Complete 15 repetitions before you alternate sides.
